T&S Brass: Your Source for Buy American Act Products

U.S. History - The Buy American Act

T&S Brass: Your Source for Buy American Act Products

In 1933, at perhaps the lowest point of the Great Depression, when profits were low and opportunities for economic growth bleak, President Hoover and the U.S. Congress enacted the Buy American Act (BAA), federal legislation that required the U.S. government to prefer American products in its purchases.

In today's economic climate, U.S. manufacturers like T&S are working to ensure the country's recovery will sustain one of our greatest assets, the American worker. The associates of T&S Brass are pleased to produce over 5,000 products and parts that meet the requirements of the BAA. This offering provides our customers with access to the quality plumbing fixtures they need while supporting both our local and national economy.

Today - The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act

Like the Buy American Act, a provision favoring U.S. produced goods was incorporated into The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) signed by President Obama in February 2009. This legislation is intended to spur the economy, grow the number of job opportunities for American workers and lay the groundwork for changes that will ensure our country's continued leadership in the 21st century.

To achieve its mission, any project receiving federal funding created by the ARRA is required to purchase American made products whenever possible. This will allow U.S. manufacturers to keep existing jobs in place while creating the potential for new job opportunities.

Since 1947, T&S Brass has meticulously designed, rigorously built and efficiently delivered the most superior quality products to the commercial plumbing industry. Still family-owned and operated, "reliability" remains the fundamental principal behind everything we do. At our headquarters in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, our associates take pride in consistently delivering the finest in craftsmanship and service with a dedication that exemplifies the American spirit.
